HRA AGM 2011

The Headstone Residents’ Association held its 2011 Annual General Meeting and Open Forum at North Harrow Methodist Church, Pinner Road on Wednesday 29 June.

David Sklair from Harrow Council’s Economic Development Unit spoke about the North Harrow Business Partnership and plans to regenerate the shopping district.   This was followed by a lively question and answer session.  See the North Harrow regeneration page on this website for notes on the talk and the Q&A.

This is a subject very dear to the hearts of North Harrow residents.  Many thanks to David for his time.

Many thanks to Councillors Janet Mote, Anthony Seymour and James Bond for taking part in the Open Forum.  Main topics:
* Yeading Brook Open Space (between Northumberland, Lincoln and Suffolk Roads) was licensed a year ago for a big wedding at the start of July, but neighbours were only informed a week beforehand

* concern about the future of North Harrow library once Childrens' Services moves out of the building

* heavy lorries a problem along Headstone Lane; could be helped by better positioning of road signage

* do our local councillors share information and work together on local issues?
