The HRA developed from a ratepayers' association formed in the late 1920s and today represents residents in Headstone North and Headstone South and the neighbouring wards of Harrow West and Pinner South. It is non-sectarian and non-political and is run by elected unpaid volunteers.
What do we do?
- keep in touch through our street representatives
- give news and advice to members via our website and email
- hold regular committee meetings to discuss and act on matters of local interest
- monitor and comment on local planning applications
- represent the collective interests of residents at Council Meetings, including Planning, Transport and Licensing
- publish 3-4 Bulletins per year
We liaise with and attend meetings of organisations with which we share common aims and interests:
- Pinner and Hatch End Associations
- Harrow Police & Community Consultative Group
- Headstone North and Headstone South Safer Neighbourhood Panels
- North Harrow Businesses’ Association
- Harrow Recreation Ground Users Association
- Greener Harrow
- Harrow Heritage Trust
- London Green Belt Council
- Harrow Public Transport Users' Association
Along with neighbouring residents' associations, we have campaigned:
- to retain ticket offices at North Harrow station and along the Metropolitan Line
- to modify the original designs for the Safeway/Gilbert Square site (and we continue to press for the promised supermarket)
- to preserve residents' amenity under the North Harrow Assembly Halls development
