Who are we

The HRA developed from a ratepayers' association formed in the late 1920s and today represents residents in Headstone North and Headstone South and the neighbouring wards of Harrow West and Pinner South.  It is non-sectarian and non-political and is run by elected unpaid volunteers.

What do we do?

  • keep in touch through our street representatives
  • give news and advice to members via our website and email
  • hold regular committee meetings to discuss and act on matters of local interest
  • monitor and comment on local planning applications
  • represent the collective interests of residents at Council Meetings, including Planning, Transport and Licensing
  • publish 3-4 Bulletins per year

We liaise with and attend meetings of organisations with which we share common aims and interests:

  • Pinner and Hatch End Associations
  • Harrow Police & Community Consultative Group
  • Headstone North and Headstone South Safer Neighbourhood Panels
  • North Harrow Businesses’ Association
  • Harrow Recreation Ground Users Association
  • Greener Harrow
  • Harrow Heritage Trust
  • London Green Belt Council
  • Harrow Public Transport Users' Association

Along with neighbouring residents' associations, we have campaigned:

  • to retain ticket offices at North Harrow station and along the Metropolitan Line
  • to modify the original designs for the Safeway/Gilbert Square site (and we continue to press for the promised supermarket)
  • to preserve residents' amenity under the North Harrow Assembly Halls development
